You know when you hear a record on the radio that you haven't heard for years and you can't get it out of your head? A couple of weeks ago the song 'Day After Day' by Badfinger was played on BBC Radio 2, since then I have been singing it constantly. I had forgotten what a great band they were, I just HAD TO go out and buy it, so yesterday I went to my local second-hand record store and bought 'Come And Get It', 'No Matter What' and 'Day After Day'. Apparantly they have never been re-issued, so I had to get them on vinyl 45 singles and they cost £8 (about $11) each! They were worth it though, can't stop playing them now! I'd be very interested to know other people's opinions on Badfinger, cheers.

A great band with a tragic story. 'No Matter What' was a great favourite of mine, and 'Without You', performed by Harry Nilsson, was written by Peter Ham & Tom Evans, of Badfinger. I believe that within a year Peter Ham hanged himself, although probably more for financial reasons than the apparently obvious one stated in the song, which I had always suspected to be the case. According to the sites below, Tom Evans also did, some years later. They were a very, very good band, Blam, amd I am astonished to hear from you that only vinyl is available for their music...and never re-released...? amazing...

They were an incredibly talented group who gave us some great songs to remember them by.

I can relate, Badfinger (formerly) The Iveys were in an 'Apple' kind of way discovered and re-vamped by Sir Paul, he wrote 'Come and Get It' for them, but they certainly achieved some of their success, by themselves, check out their album songs for their own merit. I think Peter Hamm must have had personal issues other than Badfinger to hang himself...ironically Tom Evans also committed suicide. I don't believe it was all due to failing band success. But they did regardless, provide us all with some great pop music. Sorry its so hard and probably ironic to come by their music, especially where you live.

I since found out their Greatest Hits album was released on CD, so I got it!! It's got their (the original) version of 'Without You' on it, but I do so much prefer Harry's version!! 'Day After Day' is absolutely brilliant and sounds soooo much like a Paul McCartney record, love it!
