He (Younus) had seen his team accused of deliberately underperforming in the recent Champion's Trophy in South Africa where they were eliminated atat the group stages. Presumably this was a Very Big story in Pakistan...

Posted Hide Post We actually went down in the semis.... after crossing the difficult stages. We won when others did not expect and lost when we were expected to win. Thats Pakistan cricket team. Few good articles have been written on Younis Khan's resignation at cricketinfo. Its a whole culture to be blamed here. People can spit out words which are baseless. Its the politicians who should resign. PCB made the right decision of not accepting Younis's resignation.

Posted Hide Post Hi bik, Younus was certainly sympathetically treated in the UK media, as far as I can tell. "A gentleman doing the honourable thing because he felt he had been unjustly attacked, in spite of having been cleared of any wrong-doing whatsoever" - all that sort of thing. I wish him well. But tell me - doesn't Younus play Twenty-20 cricket? How come Afridi has been made captain for the upcoming NZ matches with Younus getting the nod for the longer forms of the game?
