We're driving out of Alaska this December and will be taking the ferry from Valdez to Bellingham. From what I gather, we will be stopping on Vancouver Island. I know that we will have to be in Canada at some point, I'm not 100% on what part (the site was not very clear).
I know to cross the border we have to have photo IDs for the adults and birth certificates for all of us (2 adults 2 children). I also know that we can't take a gun (don't have one anyway lol) and we can't take Canadian citrus into America.
Is there anything else we can't take with us? I can't seem to find a definitive list of "don'ts". We're moving, so we'd like to take as much with us in the car as we can as when we moved up here, the movers broke a lot of stuff. But I don't want to lose anything at the border. And are any other kinds of foods prohibited? We're traveling with two small children who like to eat--a lot. lol
Any help will be appreciated. Thanks!

Take a look at this site. It seems that Canada Customs now is called something else, but it should be able to let you know what you can bring in the country. http://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/E/pub/cp/rc4161/README.html If you have any specific concerns you could e-mail them. jt
