I'm moving to Spain later this year to study music. I'll have to work while I'm there....does anyone know anything about work regulations for foreigners? I plan to live there for at least a year. Any other info related to moving abroad would be helpful. I'm moving to Vigo, which is in NW Spain, any ideas for jobs besides resturants? I would also like to visit some friends in Morocco while living in Vigo, will the train get me most of the way there, and how much? Any info appreciated! Thank you. Confused

Go to:

www.expatica.com

for all the answers about work permits for Spain. As you shall see there are several varieties of permit. All are obtained through the Embassy of Spain in Washington at 2375, Pennsylvania Avenue NW
20037 Washington DC

www.spainemb.org

The national railway is RENFE . It is on :

www.renfe.es/ingles

You can go from Vigo to Algeciras for the ferry to Tangier, Morocco. It's a long journey; overnight is best; changing just the once, at Madrid. The ferry takes 70 minutes or up to two and a half hours, depending on the type, from Algeciras. You will find, mysteriously, that there is a crossing from Spain to Spain. That's because Ceuta is on the coast of Morocco but is Spanish; the crossing is as little as 35 minutes from Algeciras. Algeciras is a main port.

For ferries see:

Further to the above:
I've just tried the Expatica site. It is fine but clicking on the link in the text I had difficulty accessing the page for work permits If you do too then use the search box and enter 'work permit Spain' and scroll down. It gets you to the page with details of the permits.
Generally Expatica's site is useful in giving advice about types of jobs etc
