There are 15 countries that made up the old USSR. I'll try to list them: Russia, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Belarus, Ukraine, Moldova, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbijian, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan. (I think I got them all.)

You got them all.

Related question- are the Transcaucasus Countries (Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Georgia) considered to be in Europe or Asia?

The maps I've checked show them to be on the SE border of Europe.

Several friends and I have checked quite a few references, and while most say that Armenia and the others adjoining countries are in Asia, quite a few say Europe. I'm curious what others find for this. I know that every map I've found that shows the former USSR divided into European and Asian sections show them as being in Europe. Yelena may have some input in this.

I found several sites saying that Armenia is in SW Asia. Here is one of them:

Wow, sorry for taking so long. I don't know what the maps say, but I know that all the Aremenians I know (myself included) definetly consider Armenia to be a part of Europe, not Asia. Either way, wherever it is located geographically, the people themselvs are not Asian, so no, I don't consider Aremnia to be part of Asia. Smile
