Has anyone ever been, or known someone who claims to have been abducted by a UFO? ************************************************** 06-16-02, 01:22 PM dogspit Sad to say, but I grew up on the next block from and knew those involved in one of the best known UFO abduction claims, the infamous "Fire In The Sky" abduction. Many of us still debate the merits of that and it can get quite nasty.

Why don't you contact the FBI and report the abduction?
Keep in mind the rather stiff penalties--including thousands of dollars in fines along with years of prison time--for falsely reporting an abduction to the FBI.
This begs the question of why not a single person has ever reported their "alien abduction" to the FBI. Do the parents of abducted children run immediately to the National Enquirer and tell their story to rags like that? No. They go to the FBI.
Why do people who claim alien abductions not go to the FBI, but, instead, to a yellow rag that can't even properly be called a "newspaper"? I think the answer is pretty clear. ************************************************** 06-24-02, 03:53 PM XaurreauX but then I started singing show tunes and they dropped me like a hot Venusian potato. Hi JohnGalt, just nosing around and came across your post,I am puzzled nay dumbfounded! how do the FBI or other LEA`s validate a claim of "alien" abduction? More interestingly how in the hell would disprove it! in order to dispense "...the rather stiff penalties--including thousands of dollars in fines along with years of prison time..." For me the jury is still out on this subject, trying to keep my mind open. But if I was abducted by aliens I think the last people I would confide in would be the FBI.My mind boggles at the bright sparks that drew those penalties up, what were they smoking??

The same with any other abduction - With evidence. Wink

With evidence that a person made up a false claim.

Me too. I'd love to have evidence of intelligent alien life. Heck I'd even be happy if they found non-intelligent plant life on Mars! Smile
But as of now, unfortunatley, we don't have any evidence of alien life. I personally believe there is intelligent life somewhere else in the Universe. But I am honest enough to say that it nothing more than faith and I have no evidence. And we also have no evidence that they've ever been to our little planet.

Who would you tell? Besides, I mean, the fine folks here on AnswerPool! Smile I mean let's face it, if someone really was abuducted, then it makes sense to go to whatever law enforcement agency whose job is to investigate abductions.

Reporting a false crime to any law enforcement agency should be a crime. It wastes valuable taxpayer dollars not to mention time and manpower of law enforcement agents who could be spending their time actually investigating real crimes with real victims. And , more importantly, reporting a false crime, assuming humans Smile are the alleged criminals, means that an innocent person (or alien Smile) has been accused of a crime that they didn't commit. ************************************************** 12-22-03, 10:55 PM redder Hi JG, This is getting interesting,
"The same with any other abduction - With evidence." evidence provided by? "With evidence that a person made up a false claim" ditto! " But I am honest enough to say that it nothing more than faith and I have no evidence. And we also have no evidence that they've ever been to our little planet." Reasonable assumption. "if someone really was abuducted, then it makes sense to go to whatever law enforcement agency whose job is to investigate abductions!" mmm ..OK then?
"Who would you tell?" Anyone I trusted not to label me one of those 'crackers'. And certainly not any LEA under the present legislation....as quoted.
"But I am honest enough...." JG your honesty was never in question! just your point of view. Smile ************************************************** 12-23-03, 08:42 PM DvdGStwrt Yes I know someone who claims to have been abducted by aliens, several times.
As for the FBI comment, there are rarely any cases where the victim is gone longer than a night. The experience is either at first sublimated (coming out in nightmares, flashbacks, etc) and takes on the characteristics of post traumatic stress syndrome - or it is remembered clearly but out of fear of being called crazy the victim does not share the event with anyone. Either case usually fear keeps the lips of the victim sealed long after all evidence is gone.
Why would anyone go to the FBI (or other government agency) with a report of being abducted by Aliens when the official government official stance on the subject is that it does not happen.
In our society the notion of Aliens and UFOs and Abductions are quickly filed away as craziness, hyper-active imaginings, lies and other not to nice categories -
Even if a group of people witness strange lights in the sky (Phoenix Az as example) the official government response is less than helpful, in the case of the Phoenix Lights the mayor came on stage with a man in a costume. With this kind of ridicule how can we expect reliable abductees to come forth?
David ************************************************** 02-22-04, 07:11 PM mystery250 My btrother says that he has, but I dont think so... he's strange anyway. :P
