Is there such a thing as F-vitamin? It is very unusual or why isn't it usually listed with the rest of the vitamins?
Also a couple words I haven't managed to find out the meanings of: thalassemia and filicinophytes. Thanks! |

There is such a thing but it's not really a vitamein. "Vitamin F" is the term used to refer to Fatty Acids. These acids are needed to maintain the function of cell membranes and to help with the breakdown and excretion of cholesterol. They also help form hemoglobin, regulate oxygen use, blood pressure and sometimes can help prevent allergies. Recommended dosage is 100-150 mg a day.
Thalassemia is the name of a group of genetic blood disorders. Click here to learn more about the different forms and the treatment available. Filicinophytes is the scientific name for the family of ferns. |
