this upcoming year, I am going to want to try out for one of the pep squad activities at my new school. The only problem is, I don't know the difference between songleading and cheerleading. Are they different? If so what are the differences? ++++++++++++ 11-10-02, 02:29 PM megan_09 Well, I have never heard of songleading, but cheerleading is a great thing to join. This is my 5th year as a cheerleader and my 3rd year on danceline. You should just join whatever seems more like you! Good luck!

A word of warning for you though. Cheering today is as difficult a sport as anything the guys do. My daughter worked a lot harder being a cheerleader that I did several years before when I was playing HS football. She also played varsity softball and I personally think softball was physically easier than cheering. Of course this all depends on what sort of cheering your squad does. If you're physically fit and don't mind a lot of hard work, cheering may be for you. Good luck with your decision.
