This SF Chronicle story is mostly about Bush, and certainly if I were him, I would not relish a visit to San Francisco, where he would not get the sort of propoganda opportunity he prefers, but it is interesting how many Presidents have found occasion to visit the city. Even Ford, who was President for only a brief period following Nixon's resignation came several times, and both LBJ and Nixon, reviled for the Vietnam war, just as Bush is for Iraq, made several visits.
