Someone told me about a new theory that the black death of the middle ages was not bubonic plague, but in fact hemorragic fever. This accounts for the unordinarily rapid spread of the disease, more severe symptoms, etc.

Does anyone know of any good web sites or books that present arguements for or against this new theory?

Thanks for your help.

I don't have anything on discussion of a comparison theory.
