What was the first newspaper edited by a a negro in the US?

I don't know about the rest of the world, but the first North Carolina newspaper with this distinction was The Fayetteville Educator, in 1873.

There was one in a northern state in the early 1800's, I was hoping someone would know what it was.

The first one was called Freedom's Journal. It was published in NY on March 16, 1827 by John Russwurm
