Good way to cut a cats claws?
I've tried putting a towel around her but she always manages to scratch me even though there are 2 people holding her. And i've tried using thich gloves but its impossible to use the special cat scissors with the gloves on. The cat, Asma, also meows really loudly when we try to cut those claws. And the reason is not that i press the paw too hard or that i cut too much of the claw. I cut about a millimeter -not from the pink part!!!
So any good ideas on how to cut them??? Eek

I always wait until my cats are sleeping and then gently spread their toes and snip the nails. Other times I will pick them up and hold them on my lap and spread their toes...playing with them...and then quietly reach for the scissors and start clipping before they realize I'm no longer playing.

But both my cats are extremely fussy when it comes to clipping nails. And I barely cut any nail either as the fleshy part extends almost all the way into the length of the nail.

My little cat, Jay, is fine with me clipping her nails, but my fatty, Silent Bob, is a monster when it comes time to clip. I have to pin her down and practically sit on her while my mother-in-law clips. She hates it. But she's better than she used to be. I find it's best with two people. And when we're lounging on the couch or in bed, I sometimes play with her paws so she is more ysed to people touching her.
