This is a tad gross....Can kitty over-do on hairball formula? I used to give regular formula food alternated with hairball food, but the constant back and forth seemed to upset theit tummys...but every now and then I notice that the cats will fart and a very small amount of what seems to be an oily or lubricated fliud will come out, it doesn't smell like poop, but is does smell like butt (told ya it was gross) anyway I was wondering if this is due to hairball cat food or if it is normal for this to occasionally happen....Thanks

You're funny! Is your cat long-haired? Is that why you're giving it the hairball formula? I very rarely give my long-haired cat any hairball stuff, unless he's having trouble coughing it up!

To me, it sounds like you're giving kitty too much of the stuff! Frown I wouldn't give a cat a hairball formula, unless it needed it.

i have 10 cats and one or the other is always throwing up a hairball. i do give them hairball medicine, but not regularily, but that's only because i forget until one of them throws up. the hairball medicine is actually a laxative to soften up the hairball, so i believe you can give too much. just follow the instructions on the tube and your cat should be fine.

Yes, kitty cat is long haired and since the short haired one likes to clean the long haired one they both have problems with hairballs. Neither will eat the stuff out of the tube. I guess I will just either mix a small amount of hairball formula in with their regular food or give it a couple times a week and see what happens. They don't seem to have upset tummy, just stinky butt!! Wink Smile Thanks!!
