Every cat that I have ever gotten, I have had fixed while they were still a kitten. I now have a longhair girl who will soon not be a kitten anymore. Do females spray and mark their territory like males do? I just wonder because if they do, I need to hurry and get her fixed too.

Female's don't tend to spray, but you should still have your cat spayed. It won't harm her in any way, but she won't be able to have kittens- please do this even if yout cat is indoors only, just in case she ever escapes, or you have to board her in a cattery (they usually demand it and won't take the cat otherwise). You can spay a cat at any age, but around 4-6 months is best.
