I have two cats that were from the same litter and have never been seperated. A friend that i work with has kittens that were born a few days ago and she's giving them away to good homes. The kittens are black, which I've always wanted. Big Grin Although my mom hasn't given me a straight answer on whether or not i can get a kitten, I'm just wondering if any one can offer any advice on introducing new pets. Thanks.

Kalena....I've done this many times and I've always just watched the new kitty to make sure the others don't hurt it, given her a place to escape to, like a soft blanket in the closet, and let them get acquainted on their own.

There may be some hissing and swatting, but that's just normal, to establish the pecking order.

When I got Harley, she was just a baby and Rocky was about 10 years old. It wasn't long before he was letting her sleep in his arms, and washing her face like an old mama cat.

Kalena I am so glad you asked this. We are having trouble with our cats since we got our puppy.

Our older, streetwise cat Sadie is doing ok with it, because she knows how to fend for herself and if she gets sick of the puppy, she just goes outside for a day or two.

But our other cat Duncan, is declawed (we adopted him, and he was an indoor cat, already declawed, and very spoiled) and hides all day from all of us. We have spotted him a few times and has lost a ton of weight. He is so very thin, and I am worried about him.

I was wondering too, what we could do to get these animals used to each other...so duncan is a little less traumatized.
