Well, First of all thank you for looking at this, your help is very apreciated. My cat is about 9 months old and she is acting very odd, it seems as if she is in pain. She tends to lift he behind u0p in the air and makes weird noises, This has been going on for about a day or so. My hunch on this is that since i did not get my cat Sapyed or Nuterd because i would like my cat to have a family of its own, i think this is like her period or something like that. And about a wek ago she actully had a urine problem and had to go pee in her bed and was totlay freked out, i then followed buy washinng the sheets and giveng her a bath. I think theese two incidents have to do with each other , if u can halp at all with this it would be highly apreciated.

Your cat is in heat!! This will last about a week or so and will continue through cycles until she is spayed.

Might I ask WHY you want her to have a "family of its own"??? Unless you plan to keep all these kitties or you KNOW that you will be able to find them homes, you should have your cat spayed...

Thank you very much Lydia. and the reason i am not going to get her spayed is that i know i can take care of all the kittens and i have enough room for them all. Also i think for a female cat the chance to have a family and its own children is an improtant aspect of a cats life but if you recommend that i get her spayed i am willing to. But i would like to know that is this normal? and do all cats that are not spayed do this and are they in too much pain?

I think you should get your cat spayed. I believe that being in heat is painful to your cat. Some cats cry constantly. It isn't just about having the space. There is a huge expense taking care of a litter of kittens who quickly become a litter of cats. Kittens are cute but they do grow up fast. You will have to spay or neuter all of the cats and get shots for all of them. There are so many homeless cats at animal shelters. If you really want another kitten, you should look to adopt one. Animal shelters are full of kittens and cats who need a good home. I recommend talking to your veterinarian about this. They can help guide you in the right direction.

did you know if you get your cat spayed before her first heat, there is a 99% chance that she will never get cancer. i did'nt get my 13 year old spayed in time because she is a inside cat and i knew she would'nt get pregnant, but because of my error, my precious cat has terminal cancer. also, before you let your cat have a family, tour the animal shelters and see how many unwanted cats there are that will be put down because nobody wants them. please, if you want more kittens, adopt, and get your kitty fixed and help control the pet population.i have 10 cats and 6 dogs and they are all fixed. please reconsider. thanks.

You're welcome PLZ HELP A KITTY. I understand that you think that your cat should have her own family (although, I can't say I agree)...maybe she doesn't want kittens! Many cats hate their babies...and eat them or kill them or won't even feed them. There is no scientific proof that female cats feel the "need" to have babies - - that seems only to be a human trait!

The information Clarie provided is SO true...if you have kittens, you have GOT to have them spayed or neutered. Depending on how many babies she has, THAT is going to be quite an expense. If the babies go unspayed/unneutered, you will suddenly have a much larger problem on your hands...for one, way too many kittens and two, genetic issues given that they WILL mate with one another!!!
