Just curious- I've a kitten around 8 months old now who weighs in at about 4 lbs. and is about half the size of our kitties who are about 5 months older than she.Gilda looks like a tiny ginger cat- nothing "kitteny" about her! We found a vet who was willing to spay her last month despite her size but she had no explanation for the miniture-ness of this healthy kitten.
Any one else ever have a cat so small?

If your vet says your cat’s weight is fine, you have nothing to worry about. Some cats are just small. My parents’ cat lived to be 19, perfectly healthy, and never got over 6 pounds. My cat, who was sick, but also just a very small get, was never much more than 5 pounds. Cats come in all sizes. Just make sure you can’t feel each of her ribs, and make sure the vet is comfortable with her size.

Thanks for the input! I'm not worried about her size, just find it unusual. We have 6 housecats and 2 porch cats (most of them strays or offspring of strays) and they're all "normal" sized. Since this little one came from the alley last fall, she's probably related in some way to 3 of the others here.
It's odd to get a ginger striped female around here (I've only ever seen 3 in my life, including Gilda) and a cat so small is even odder. She holds her own with the others though! So funny to watch her stalk and try to take down Pip, who is nearly 3 times her weight!
