I just have one question i have had cats all my life and it never even came to mind i heard today that cats have periods just like females i want to know is that true do cats have periods?

i don't know if it is called a period, but females do drip blood when they are in heat.

Cats do come into heat, and during these times you need to be careful as that's when they can become pregnant if there are male cats around. They often don't show the obvious physical signs of being in heat as dogs do.

It is usually a good idea to fix a female cat who is not going to be bred for good reasons (lineage for Show cats, etc) because they CAN get pregnant so easily and it really isn't good for them to go into heat so much.

We neutered all our cats and dogs within 6 months because of this. I know that disease and cancer are higher risks also for un-neutered cats and dogs.
