Do you mean like a coffee shoppe with internet access? Or something similar?

Are there free libraries around you that have internet access? Is there a large population around you that would justify opening one?

I am not trying to shoot down your idea, I just want you to realize a building, 10 or 20 computers, monthly fees of ISP's, electricity, insurance, building rental, heating, furniture, advertising etc could run into the many many thousands of dollars ($25,000 conservatively very likely)

Samantha,

This idea was first brought up many years ago by none other than marketing guru exraordinaire, Jay Conrad Levinson, in his (first of series) book; "Guerrilla Marketing".

In this book he lays out a very carefully devised marketing plan, which shows all inherent costs, for a business he called, "Computer Tutor". This business not only supplied access to the internet (no world wide web back in those days) but showed customers how to navigate it. Since net access was still in its infancy at the time, a great many people were intimidated by the cyberworld.

While the web doesn't intimidate most of us anymore, a good many could still use help in brushing up on their navigating and searching online. With this in mind there still may be a viable customer base for just such a business in our modern wired world of the 21st century. And it might be a good niche for you to pursue as it would set you well and above the base service offered by the cyber-cafes. It would probably serve you well to read some of Jay's books and then make an enlightened decision
