Okay, need some help understanding this. The new tv commercial for Blockbuster says "No Late Fees" on rentals. So what's going to compel customers to bring back their tapes -- why not hang on to 'em for a couple of months? Anyone?

That's weird. Apparently, if you bring the video back within 30 days, you will be "refunded" the price of the video and then charged a slight "restocking fee."
Um, sounds like "late fees" to me!

And now Blockbuster has been forced to change their wording in their advertising...........seems they've been overwhelmed with complaints that didn't read the policy clearly.

Blockbuster is being sued for deceptive advertising. Many other states may follow. Any rental 8 days late is considered a sale and Blockbuster will charge your credit card between $8.00 and $20.00. If it is returned within 30 days then there is a restocking fee. This article says the restocking fee is $1.25 yet other sites say it is around $4.50. You can do a google search on "Blockbuster sued" and many other sites will come up. The end of late fees isn't quite an end after all.

Yeah, ideally they should've just ended late fees and started no late fees but restocking fees without advertising it. But I guess they saw an oppotunity to skew a bit and grabbed it.
