Has anyone ever had DVT, and if so, how long did it last? I've had it for 16 months now, and the doctor just say, it lasts a long time.I developed it after i had knee surgery, and the knee threw a blood clot. The clot broke and i got a clot in each lung. I was on bed rest in the hospital for 42 days, and the doctor say because i wasn't mobile, the Dvt developed. This is a scary experience for me, so if anyone else has had it, please let me know how you coped with it, and what did your doctor tell you? I lost my job because i couldn't work like this, as a matter of fact, my whole life has changed because of this. please let me hear from you.

It seems that you may still be fearful. I suggest that before you get out of bed, that you raise each leg a few times. This will likely get the circulation moving and prevent swelling. Also, try walking around the block. If you force yourself to act moderately healed, then you come to realize that you are healed. Consider using a cane if you lack confidence. May God grant you a positive, fighting spirit!
