I acquired some knowledge of this disease, unfortunately, because I had a friend die of it last August. It is a variation of what in cows/sheep is called Mad Cow Disease. My friend had been abroad in Europe. For about six months, she went through horrible seizures & high fevers never really gaining consciousness. It wasn't till the autopsy that it was determined that she had succumbed from vCJ. But as the given website states, thankfully, this is an extremely rare disease.
