The echocardiogram can see the beating of the heart, and the workings of it. It is very similar to an ultrasound a pregnant woman undergoes. It uses ultrasound to watch the actual movement of the heart. I don't think you can actually see clogged arteries. That would be an arteriogram.
The finger oxygen test you are referring to is an oxygen saturation. It tells how much oxygen is being carried by the blood.
