What are the risks of traveling 700 miles by car, if you have a permanent blood clot in the knee? Along with the clot, there's permanent DVT and CVI. What precautions should be taken during the trip?

wear support hose. Flex your ankles (to tighten your calves) regularly. Get up and walk around outside every hour or so. Depending on your medical/medication status, take aspirin (discuss it with your doc.)

Thanks Sid for your reply. I've heard some people say that traveling shouldn't be done at all, but there comes a time that you have to travel. Thanks again.

People say a lot of things, but I would suggest you do whatever your doctor tells you. If he tells you not to travel, then don't. But if he tells you it's okay, Sid gave you great ideas.
