I have had a chronic cough for several months. In that time, I have had 2 chest x-rays, 2 breathing tests, treatment for acid reflux, which includes taking Protonix and just a week ago had a tube inserted into my throat at the hospital to see what is going on in there. I've been told in each case that everything looks ok. I am still coughing. It is a very dry cough, (nothing comes up). I've also had bronchial sprays and nasal sprays to no avail. Sometimes I loose my breath and almost stop breathing due to the cough. I have never smoked! I have been tested for Asthma and been told I do not have it.

Have they tested you for asthma?

Sometimes a cough is the main symptom.

Also, maybe you are eating something or breathing something you are allergic to.
