ok bear with me here-
2 years ago my daughter got her last MMR shot, 2 weeks later she had little red bumps on her tummy, took her to the doctor he said it was a rash. 2 days later (on Mothers day) she was covered head to toe in millions of red bumps and fever and vomiting. He finally admitted it was the measles after seeing her 2 more times!

On Feb 25 I took her to get the chicken pox vaccine (not that I wanted to but it was required to enroll her in school Mad) yesterday (one week past the shot) she threw up in the car and last night was very cranky and running a fever 101.1, fever this morning (giving motrin for it) and this afternoon her temp is climbing again ( right now it is 99.9). No more vomiting but she is complaining of a headache in the mornings and the general "I don't feel good" statements.

Questions: is it possible she is getting the pox? how long is the incubation period? If it is pox when will the bumps show up? I was told that getting the pox from the shot was EXTREMELY rare, but she got the measles from the shot too.

If it is pox is she contagious? What other symptoms should I look for to rule out pox? Or to look for to confirm she has the pox?

It is possible she could be developing Chicken Pox.. but I don't recall vomiting from having it (I had it as a senior in High school....bleck!).

Here is some information about Chicken Pox.

Chicken Pox is contagious usually before symptoms actually occur. It takes about 2-3 weeks before spots appear. About a day before they appear, head ache, tired rundown feeling and a few other symptoms occur.

Good luck!

If you want any more information, just ask.
