Normal blood sugar is between 64 to 110 mg/dL. However, "normal limits" is deceptive. Some people feel perfectly fine at 65 mg/dL...and some people pass out. However, if you have a glucose test, these are the limits they are using to judge the results.

in 9 years of nursing, I have never heard of a blood sugar of 1700, I can't imagine a sugar that high would support life at all.

The highest I have witnessed was 700, and that was in an ICU situation.

I can't imagine blood sugars that high. That poor guy. I've seen patients with sugars up to 500, and they were suffering. He's in my prayers, too Juan. Frown
