A few weeks ago I got the idea in my head that I was going to take a flop. I prayed and said that if I had to fall, then God should see to it that I do not get badly hurt. Well, when I took the flop on a cement sidewalk on 10-24-07, I was able to point my Totes umbrella into the ground (and destroy it) fast enough to stop from getting a fractured skull. Unfortunately or fortunately (I don't know), I managed to get a very swollen right thumb. Yes, just like I prayed, I actually did need to fall--to heal the kink and pain in my right wrist, which I couldn't shake for the past two weeks. Now, however, this thumb is soooo slow to heal, and I do not have the time and patience to take care of it. I am too busy for a splint, which I do not need. So the thumb swells up come the evening, looks like a phallic symbol, gets hot and purple, and even starts to tickle on its tip. No lie! Any ideas on what to do, when the thumb just swells up at night anyway? Any ideas on how to stay cool instead of getting impatient and irritable with this annoying, ludicrous, and embarrassing (which is why I don't want to go out) attraction suddenly attached to me? Maybe I should go out with it--on Halloween night--and charge to see what a thumb can become! I am soooo short-tempered with this freaky thing. . . . P.S. Whatever you do, don't fall in the middle of the street, because my left knee stiffened up immediately so that I could not get up until some gent appeared to help me, but it is doing well now.
