My dad has to have some EP studies done. I know what they are and all but, I'm not up on how risky they are when they try to get the heart to go into an irregular rythem...Any information is helpful. Thanks...

The idea, as you probably know, is to pass a catheter into the heart, find where the abnormal rhythm is coming from, and zap the area to eliminate the source of the rhythm. It's highly effective, and quite safe. Nothing is free of risk, of course, but they have all sorts of monitoring and equipment during the procedure that makes them ready for anything. here is a pretty helpful article.
