I have been on a course of Furosemide prescribed @ 10 mgs per day and afer a recent Blood test my Family Doctor has changed the drug to Bendrofluthiazide !2.5mg per day)

Ok I read that they do the same Job
Is this a More powerful drug and is this new dose the same as the original? Confused

PS Blood test came up clear Smile

Bendrofluthiazide is a Thiazide diuretic, and Furosemide is a loop diuretic... each drug accomplishes the same result but by different means and with different risks and benefits- your best move would be to ask your physician exactly why he thought the new drug was a better choice.

Thanks for that. Did a bit of digging and came up with this fact the New Drug is a "Low ceiling diuretic" meaning in Plain English it's Not as Much work on Your Kidneys (You know what I mean?) Roll Eyes

Whereas High ceiling diuretics like Furosemide do Put stress on the Kidneys...Meaning If ya gotta go Ya gotta go!! Eek

The "low ceiling" version expels the waste product via Perspiration and/or Via the Lungs Going to have coughing fits .Had that already Frown Now I have another 3 months plus Coughing to look forward to OH JOY! Mad
