Does anyone have any info on how serious it is when the valves in the leg vein become non-functional? I had never heard of valves before, and yesterday, my doctor told me that mine in my left leg was becoming non-functional. This is a spin-off from me suffering from DVT for several months, I was hoping to overcome the venous problem, but now, my doctor say it's permanent. He said that I'll be on coumadin for life, and that my leg will be swelled for life. This all started from a simple arthroscopy of the knee, and it threw a clot.
