A friend wanted me to ask a question for her. She is 47 and is on lopresser for her heart. Her question is she is losing alot of her hair. It has gotten very thin and we realize it could be from the heart meds she is on. Her thyroid is fine. She wants to know what to do for it to help counter act the meds. Maybe a vitamin? Thanks alot.

She really should talk to her doctor before she takes anything. Short of changing her meds, if that is what's causing the hair loss, there isn't a whole lot she can do. I had the same thing happen to me from the meds I was on- I was able to change to something different- but I would never think of taking anything without first checking since I would have absolutely no idea what the possible drug interactions would be. I have asked for similar advice here at AP, but I okay'd it with my doctor first.
My Dr. prescribed Folic acid for my hair loss, but again, I stress, she should first check with her doctor.

I have been on lopressor for almost 3 years. All it does for me is slow down my heart beat to around 48. Has not affected me physically on the outside in any way. But, then, that's me.
