My granddaughter just went through a problem with mold. She moved with her 2 year old into an apartment that was moldy from ceiling to floor. The landlord wouldn't give her money back and she had to threaten to sue. She had the health department out and they tested and said she and the baby had to get out right away. Mold can be fatal. They couldn't even take their furniture. Why don't you call your health department and have them come test your place? And get a new pediatrician. roll eyes

There are many things indoors that can affect small children and the elderly more than most of us. Dust, dust mites, molds, etc.

If you don't already have one, see if you can get a vacuum cleaner that uses a hepa filter and/or a bagless. I used to sell Filter Queen years ago, and although it's pretty spendy, it carries a life-time guarantee. There are substantially less expesive models that you can get at any major store like Walmart, Target, etc that use a hepa-filter system.

Even if not "allergic", many people have problems with dust and irritants in their home, which will cause coughing and sneezing.

Your carpeting and upholstery holds a tremendous amount of dust, skin flakes, etc...using a system that can help get those things out may help.

Good Luck!

Yes, a two year old can be checked for allergies. I would ask your doctor to see if he could refer you to a allergist if he thinks it is necessary.

That happened to me once when I was about 8 or 9, (now 12) well I went to the docter after about a month and a half of constant coughing and they said I had "walking pneumonia". It is like a virus that stays with you until you get it treated. It's very simple but the medicine (i think) is like 40 bucks. Well, hope this helps!

When my child was coughing and did not have no particular cold they said it was a sign of asthma. Which I have. My son get breathing treatments when he gets ill sometimes. You child could be near something that is triggering a allergic reaction and have allergic asthma which is what I have. Talk to your doctor about this. They have many treatments that can help.
