A week ago yesterday I received a treatment of Zometa. It is administered through an IV. I am going to have monthly treatments, to try to strenthen my bones do to cancer metastesis. My oncologist is afraid I may break a bone, or worse my back if I fall. When I first came home I felt fine. They had warned me that I would have increased bone pain. About 10PM I started feeling nausous, and all the next day I also had flu symptoms including a severe headache and dizzyness. The next day I was fine. Since then from my knees down on both my legs, feel bruised. It is both legs, and all the way around. I'm not sure if this is the bone pain they were referring to. I'm not sure if it is the pressure put on the leg (even the slightest) is pressing against the bone. I am also not sure if I have to have these treatments for the rest of my life or if my bones will get strenthened enough after so many treatments. To give a little back ground, I was diagnosed with breast cancer five years ago, had a mastectomy, two rounds of Chemo, and radiation. It has now spread to my liver and my bones. Anyone with any knowledge of Zometa, would be appreciated. Thanks! (By the way, I may have cancer, but cancer does not have me!)
