Angela, I don't know any sites off hand, but do know of a few that have had the lung transplants...When my mom got sick she was in rehab with several lung patients...The one woman who had the double lung transplant was quite young (40ish) and did very well...she recovered quickly and was off oxygen and was able to do things again, but the other older lady died a few days after hers...she was late 50's and her overall health wasn't as good as the younger woman, who besides the lung problem was healthy....When my mom went to get tests to see if she could get one they turned her down due to the fact that her condition was too far gone and she would most likely die during the procedure. So it depends on your foster mom's age (I think the cut-off age here for the surgery was 65 and her health, she would have to inquire to her doctors if it is even a possibility. I hope it is and that can be done for her.
