If one is taking for a bacterial ulcer a regimen of: 30 mg Prevacid, 500 mg Blaxin, and Amoxicillin, would that cause a metallic taste in the mouth?

According to Mosby's Nursing Drug Reference 2005 edition,

Biaxin can cause 'abnormal tastes', but didn't specify what kind of abnormal taste.

The other two meds had no documentation of taste alteration.

According to this site, 78 out of 248 users of Biaxin experienced the metallic taste. I did notice one that said chocolate help deal with the taste.

This site reports a 6% occurrence of an abnormal taste.

Here's a site with links to "biaxin bitter taste."

Several poster here mention the metallic taste.

The results of a Google search for "biaxin" and "metallic."
