In terms of extremes of temperatures, shock can and does occur. For example, a person exposed to the sun and heat can develop Heat Shock, that is well known and the reverse is true for extreme cold. The body is unable to function outside its optimum temperature zones. That is why seizures are known to occur even a few degrees above and below norms. It depends on age, health, and predisposing conditions. I am looking for links for supportive data and will update when i do find them. For now, I hope this helps. The reason, Gizzy, you were not affected is there was not enough of a temperature change in your own body to promote serious reaction in yourself.
