I must admit the stark simple link to this page emailed to me by Dorian initially made me say "Uh oh, I wonder what is wrong?!"

It is with much appreciation that I accept this great honor. Honestly, I never saw it coming. I can think of so many of you who are, in my mind, just as deserving, if not moreso, than I. I feel blessed to have been in the right place at the right time, and for having known just enough about websites to manage to put the site together.

I would be remiss if I didn't point out that I did nothing here on my own. I built several sites before AnswerPool.com that fizzled in the wind. I have seen the domain registrations come and go for them, all dead soldiers along the way. Each of them taught me something though and the result was that AnswerPool.com was able to survive a difficult period in it's 'life'.

But the true measure of success for this site has been and will always be you all, the members of AnswerPool.com who make it live up to it's name. All of you should feel entitled to wear this moniker along with me this year. It has truly been a group effort from day one and I have never allowed myself to think anything else.

AnswerPool.com has been quite an accomplishment for me, in my own personal life. It has given me the confidence to look beyond what I had thought for years to be 'my place' in life.

It has made it possible for me to dream and know that I can make many of my dreams come true with hard work and faith in the goal.

Before this site, I had a small circle of friends who knew something about my life. I now feel that I have a circle of thousands who I can share things with, those who know something about me and my dreams and hopes in life, and I know things about so many of you all. When I see a new picture come in from someone for the AP yearbook, I smile, because it is like meeting a long time friend for the first time in person.

There has been a great deal of work involved but there has always remained the human element to the site. More than the abundance of information we all share here, there has also been the loss of people we all cared about and the birth of new 'future puddlians'. I remember the first new birth, Landon Michael and how I thought, "Man this thing is like Woodstock!"

Well, it may be similar, it is a big smarty-party for sure, but instead of music and 'nekkid mudslides', we share our knowledge and the issues in our daily lives, and it seems the party never ends.

I say this thinking of all of us;

It is so cool to be part of something bigger than you are.

And it is something so familiar and comfortable that it has become a part of many of our daily lives.

I would like to thank all of the wonderful moderating staff of AnswerPool.com, because it is they who have done the work it has taken to make this site great. They have done so at great personal sacrifice and at times, under duress for the faithful completion of their work. And all of this they do for no personal gain. Because they love the idea of the site and it's members. This has done much to make it seem like I did something great when I just did my part.

I would also like to say thank you to Karrow, my best friend on the Internet, because my dear sweet lady, without you, I know I would not have been able to weather the early days of the site. When I didn't have the fortitude to carry on, you were the rock I leaned on. I saw the good in you and you helped me find it in myself.
I am blessed to ever have been given the chance to know someone like you.

And to my Bro, Dorian, You don't know how much it has meant to me, that you stepped up and took the helm so to speak so that I may have some semblance of a normal life again. I hope everyone here realizes what you have done for us all by making the sacrifices you have for the good of the site. You are an outstanding human being.

And I cannot forget the day that I got the email that started it all, the email from D-wight informing me that AnswerPoint was closing. Had he not cared enough to let me know, we would not be here today. I think Dwight knew even then that I was the person to tell, the one crazy enough to think he could keep a band of friends together.

Here we are. Getting close to as 'old as AnswerPoint', and still no end in sight.

Wow, its been two years since I joined up? Doesnt seem like it at all. People always say though, time flies...........

Congrats to Hugh for everything he's accomplished with this site, and all the others, whether or not they made it. To be able to make a site, is something I've tried once through Geocities, and pretty much failed at, and havent tried again yet, though I may soon.

Also, congrats to all upgraded enthusiasts in the last several months that I've missed seeing.

And if not for the great leadership and tedious hours of work put in by Karrow and her great staff of dozens of generous volunteer moderators, AnswerPool.com would not have survived in the harsh landscape of the internet.
