I had a fish that used to get bloated and then he would float upside down for hours. The name of your fish sounds very familiar to me and I'm wondering if it was the same kind that you have. It alarmed me the first time it happened - but it went on for years. It could have been due to the fact that everybody who passed by the aquarium felt sorry for him and gave him "a little something to eat" even though I told them he had already been fed. Anyway he always survived and I was thinking maybe it was normal for the type of fish that he was (kind of looked like a white and gold goldfish). We moved and had to give him away. Still miss that fish! Or maybe yours is pregnant, what do I know about fish.

a gold and white fanned tail goldfish. His tummy got bloated and he floated upside down for over a year or so.
He died just today.....he seemed happy until now though - he'd fluctuate between swimming on his back and then swimming regularly. I think it is Dropsy (that's what someone else had told me).
I guess these types of fish have a tendency to be prone to this disease...
