I am interested in starting an aquarium. I've never had one but think I would really enjoy it. Any suggestions, from a good size to the kinds of fish and accessories I might start with?

Wow, I could go on and on. smile
There's lots of things you need to know.

So instead of going on and on here, I'll give you some sites to go to, and you can come back with any questions. smile

I can't emphasize enough that you need to do your research before you buy anything. Let us know what you decide and what you need help with.

I think you should start with a least a 20 gallon. And remember: Go slow. Don't buy everything at once. Especially the fish. Do some reading, and I wish you the best of luck, the fish hobby is fun, and VERY addicting. wink

Well here is a suggestion....I have two red belly piranha's (as you can see by my posts) and I enjoy them soooo much...just the other day I bought them a bunch of feeder fish and they ate 14 Tuffy feeders and 3 goldfish! They are soo powerful it is completely amazing...they grow quickly so i would say get a 100 gallon tank if you have more than one....I have two in a 30 gallon and I am going to have to upgrade in 6 months or so...I would suggest getting 2 or more so they can keep each other company, but make sure they have plenty of food or they might eat each other...that happened when I was gone on vacation and one of my piranhas has a chunk out of its tail...but I would recommend piranhas because they aren't alot of matenence and are exciting to watch. Happy shopping big grin

Well, sorry but cooter can't have piranhas. smile Last time I checked they're illegal to own, sell, buy, import whatever in California. You live in Cali, no piranhas for you. wink
