Is there a cure for dropsy in goldfish? This is the disease at the worst stages where the fish's scales stand out like a pinecone and it dies soon thereafter. I just lost two nine-year old goldfish to this condition. Is it contagious... help, I need a cure!!

Maybe these sites will help you some:

I believe there is a cure, but like many problems in fish, once they get to the final stages it can be very difficult to treat. Is dropsy a bacterial infection? Anyway, I suggest you isolate each goldfish. If they're far gone you can humanely put them out of their misery by freezing them. I hope I have helped you some.
