The Houses of Parliamant clock, Big Ben ( although that is the name of the bell not the clock), has been silenced due to a complete overhall in readiness for it's 150th anniversary in 2009. The clock will still tell the time because an electrical mechaniasm has been installed to keep it going but the chimes and the bell won't be heard. A replica of the famous St. Pancras station clock is currently being constructed and will hang high above the station platform once more when St Pancras International opens in November 2007. If anyone is interested, here is what happened to the original clock. Fascinating! St Pancras is a beautiful building, make sure you try and see it if visiting London.
