Not what I have Jenny. I checked on Wikipedia and it seems there was a mistake.

"As of the 2000 census, one person lived there".

"In May 2004, a visitor to New Amsterdam reported that it appeared that the census's figure was incorrect; he saw nine people in the town who all appeared to be residents, not counting those seen driving cars along the main road."

But the question was "According to the 2000 census" and, regardless of the current population, if Wikipedia is correct, there was only one resident in 2000. Surely that ties any other city for having the lowest population, unless there is a city with a zero population.

Of course, we may have problems with the definition of the word "city."

The way they wrote it, it gives the impression that the the 2000 Census was incorrect and that the mistake was only found in 2004.

The answer I have ,also back up by Wikipedia, Smile, mentions a population of 6.

From the Wikipedia link to New Amsterdam -

In May 2004, a visitor to New Amsterdam reported that it appeared that the census's figure was incorrect; he saw nine people in the town who all appeared to be residents, not counting those seen driving cars along the main road.

Hardly proof of anything, really. Can it be determined by looking at someone if he live within the city limits of the town he is standing in? Could he be standing in the only feed and grain store within 10 miles? Besides, the question specifically asked about the 2000 Census.

Also from the same article - -

As of the census of 2000, one person lives here. According to the United States Census Bureau, the town is one of only four places in the United States to have a population of one person. The others are Hibberts Gore, Maine, Erving's Location, New Hampshire, and Lost Springs, Wyoming.
