Indian bananas ? When did you last see Indian bananas in your supermarkets? 'Tis true: India produces some 23% of the world's supply of bananas. The domestic market is so large that only a small amount gets exported. India's production is twice that of Ecuador's. An odd thing about this is that you never see bananas in any Indian restaurant (even those few that are truly Indian, not Bangladeshi ones calling themselves 'Indian'). Per contra in Ecuador, you can't avoid them. Every bar has a dish of 'chips' which are made from banana, not potato, on the counter. Bananas- P.S At the top of the link page is an ad and link for a true must-have, available in various colours and 'glow in the dark'. It's the banana protector. How can you live without one?
