Down here we say "Leave it on the snib" for "Leave the door on the latch, ajar with the lock held ".And why not? It sounds full of hidden meaning and innuendo, which is the way we like our talk.

Yes Fred Snib is the word
Over the Years I'd say or hear Leave it on the Catch/latch/snip or snit(!)/snub (Well? it is a Snub button) the click or clicker! or "On the Push" without reference to the Lock type
