Er...no! The clue is in the post's title. And, by the way, you can buy white Stilton which has no veins.

Answer: Stilton cheese was not made in Stilton. It was, and is, made in places in the hinterland. Stilton was the nearest town on the main road to London and it was there that the cheese was sold and loaded for export to London and other towns.Buyers gave the cheese the name of the place where they got it.

Imari was the name of the port in Japan whence the porcelain was exported. The porcelain was not made there. Buyers gave the porcelain the name of the place where they got it.

Simple ! Smile
