The original movie, which stuck fairly close to Ira Levin's novel, was thought-provoking, timely, and genuinely eerie. And watching Katherine Ross has never been taxing on my eyes  . I refuse to see the 2004 version until hearing a positive review by someone whose opinion I trust, and I gather your review is not positive! My understanding is that it is more a spoof than a remake, with excessive yet lame comedic distraction to the point that the genre has been changed altogether. Perhaps the introduction of a gay couple is evidence of this. Thus far, my only entertainment from the remake is derived from your new title recommendation - now THAT was timely
