Browsing through some horror movies to watch tonight (I'm a sucker for horror movies with giant animals.), I came across The Eyes of the Best, about a giant squid. Having seen Peter Benchley's The Beast, I wanted to make sure that this one was different, that I wouldn't be watching the same story. I was right. I won't be, as this plot description shows.
"Eye of the Beast, is about a giant squid terrorizing the lake of a Canadian fishing community. That Eye of the Beast's fishing community is in Canada also makes it uniquely distinct from Peter Benchley's The Beast since that miniseries was about a giant squid terrorizing an American fishing community."
It's a good thing I checked rather than assuming it was the same story. I might have missed this gem. I'll write a review for it when I'm finished watching it, tellig you all aboot it. (Insert little laughing guy here)

Well, so far the two movies are nothing alike. The Beast was set in the Ocean, while this is set in a Canadian lake. The Beast opened with a married couple out on the sea at night; this one has a young (teen?) couple in a boat on a lake at night, making oot. Right there, you know the movies are entirely different.

This movie is not only better than The Beast, It's better than Jaws! Want proof? The best line in Jaws is Brody saying, "You're gonna need a bigger boat." Well, this movie even tops that! The line here is "We're gonna need two boats." That's proof right there!
My advice to movie lovers is to waste no time finding and watching this movie! I can't wait til it's over!
