Most know that I've been a "grandma-to-be" for oh, about the last nine months...well, now it's official!
Alyssa was born this evening "around 7pm", according to the shell-shocked first time father, via c-section.
Tawn was put on bed rest last week and the doc was checking her every two days. This morning, she decided it was time, and told Tawn to check in to the hospital this afternoon, and they would induce labor overnight.
Well, apparently once they started monitoring Alyssa, they determined she was in mild distress and decided to do a c-section.
So, at "around 7pm" tonight, my first grandchild was born - 6 lb 7 oz & 18". I'm sure that she looks much like Tawn did when she was a baby. I know this is going to seem like a really LONG week, since I'll be flying down to help on Saturday. I'm so excited!!!!!
I called Tawn this morning and got the low-down that the dad wasn't able to provide LOL.
Alyssa was born at 7:07pm, 6 lb 7 oz and 18-1/2" (Travis had the weight and length right)
OMG...I am SOOOOO looking forward to getting down there this weekend.
My co-worker Sheila who just had a baby in Feb was here this week...and I got "Kate-duty" for a couple of hours on Monday...got my left arm in shape for holding a baby for hours
And Here is a picture of my absolutely beautiful granddaughter! I can hardly wait to meet her, and know that the next two days are going to be very hectic getting ready to go down there!
