Hi! smile Is there somewhere that you can get insurance if your job doesn't have benefits, or if you have no job? If you see my previous post, you'll see that I can't have a job. I worry about something happening to me, and my family not being able to take care of it. I'm not on their insurance, because, I didn't get into college by the time I turned 19. So, is there somewhere that supplies insurance if you don't have a job or a job with no benefits?
Thank you! I'll greatly appreciate answers! smile

Also, if you have no job and are low-income, you can check to see if you qualify for Medicaid. This is a federal program administered by the states and pays everything. You can apply for it at your local welfare office. It was made to help people like you. Good luck!

I quit my job last year to go back to school full-time. My company offered me the company health plan under a "COBRA" policy, but it was over $350 a month!

I live in California, and found Kaiser Permanente. I looked up the cost of a 19 year old to buy their own monthly health policy which includes visits to your doctor with $15 co-paymets, $10 prescription cost, and full hospitalization. The cost to you (if you lived in Southern California) would be $132 per month.

I don't know if Kaiser Permanente is offered in other states, but you can check out the website at: www.kp.org
